SUNY Cobleskill Student Competes at Region 6 Quarter Horse Show

SUNY Cobleskill student and Western Equestrian Team Captain Morgan O’Sullivan will be representing the College in Springfield, Massachusetts, tomorrow at the American Quarter Horse Association Region 6 Quarter Horse Show. O’Sullivan will be showing a SUNY Cobleskill-owned horse named Golden Investment.

This is the first time both O’Sullivan and SUNY Cobleskill have entered this show, which will feature more than 400 horses from around the Northeast. O’Sullivan will likely compete against about 40 horses in her class.

O’Sullivan has been training this summer with Gretchen Mathes, former AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year and one of the world’s top equestrian judges. Mathes judged the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Nationals this year.

Earlier this year, O’Sullivan was named the Western Equestrian Team’s Most Valuable Performer for the 2015-16 season. During the season, she was the IHSA Region 3 Zone 2 Reserve Point Rider, the second leading point scorer in regional competition, and led all team members in scoring at regional competitive events.
