SUNY Cobleskill’s Van Wagenen Library Book Club Presents: Reaching for the American Dream

SUNY Cobleskill’s Van Wagenen Library Book Club will celebrate 100 years of the Pulitzer Prize this fall with “Pulitzer Campfire Readings: Reaching for the American Dream” sponsored by the New York Council for the Humanities.

For a hundred years, the Pulitzer Prize has been a leader in recognizing excellence in American journalism, letters, drama, and music. The “Reaching for the American Dream” reading list features five novels that won the award for literature. Each novel resonates with the contemporary moment by looking at how authors have depicted the struggles of Americans to better themselves and achieve the American dream over the past century.

Book discussions will be facilitated by author and SUNY Cobleskill Professor Erik Hage.

The Van Wagenen Library Book Club is free to join and open to students, faculty, staff and the community at large. Book Club members will be able to check out copies of each book from the library. Discussions will take place in the Van Wagenen Library.

Spaces are limited. To join, please contact Library Dean Beth Orgeron at (518) 255-5842 or orgeroed@cobleskill.edu.
