Where You'll Find Him Now

I currently work here at SUNY Cobleskill as an EOP Counselor and have been for the last four years. I love it, especially because I came to Cobleskill as an EOP student. In a way, I have come full circle. Being a part of helping this next generation of students reach their goals is exciting and invigorating.

My responsibilities as an EOP counselor are to set a precedent and provide support to students who have shown ability and motivation in the face of economic and academic challenge. In addition, I must demonstrate knowledge of the history, purpose, and the mission of EOP. I have a thorough understanding of the purpose, process, and goals of the EOP Summer Program and I develop, plan, and present programs and workshops to help our students succeed. My favorite part of my job is that I get to give back to SUNY Cobleskill EOP program which has help shape me to become who I am today.

Prior to this, I worked in the Admissions Office as an Admissions Counselor and did all of the downstate recruitment in the lower Hudson valley, NYC, Long Island, & Norther NJ. I love working here at SUNY Cobleskill and being able to help our students succeed.
“This coming August will be my tenth year at SUNY Cobleskill and I am really excited about my journey from a student to a young professional."

The Road Here

When I was in high school my basketball team came up to SUNY Cobleskill for a basketball camp. I fell in love with everything about SUNY Cobleskill, including the smell of the farm. When I got a chance to come to attend school here I jumped at my opportunity. After graduating with my bachelor’s, I was offered a job here and haven’t looked back.

This coming August will be my tenth year at SUNY Cobleskill and I am really excited about my journey from a student to a young professional. I’m proud to be able to be a person that students can talk with and to encourage them to be the best they can be while they are here.

Mentors

I have had a few mentors while being here at SUNY Cobleskill starting from Michael Cobbins who was my EOP Director, Kevin McCarthy and Joe McCarthy who have taught me a lot about Cobleskill from when I was a student to now, and Derwin Bennett, who constantly challenges me to be the best EOP Counselor I can be. All of these individuals have watched and molded me from a freshman from Peekskill, NY to a young professional here at Cobleskill.

Students, Take Note

I would like prospective students to know that Cobleskill can help you like it helped me. You have to be open minded and focus on where you are trying to go and what you want out of your life. SUNY Cobleskill is the perfect place to discover these two things. I’m proud to be an Alumni of Cobleskill.
