from The Daily Freeman on 10/24/16 – State Assemblyman Peter Lopez is running unopposed for a sixth two-year term on Nov. 8.
The Schoharie Republican represents New York’s 102nd Assembly District, which includes all of Greene and Schoharie counties; parts of Otsego, Delaware and Albany counties; and the towns of Saugerties in Ulster County and Stockport and Stuyvesant in Columbia County.
Lopez first was elected to the Assembly in 2006.
Born in Miami, Fla., Lopez is the son of Pedro Lopez of Camuy, Puerto Rico, and Barbara Skiff of Schenectady. His family moved to New York when he was an infant.
Lopez graduated from SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Albany. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public affairs with a minor in environmental studies and a master’s degree in public administration.
