Specialty Crops Among Most Valuable Agricultural Products, says Richard Ball
On Jan. 11, New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball announced that $600,000 would be made available to strengthen the state’s specialty crop industry, according to a media release.
New York Agriculture and Markets is partnering with the New York Farm Viability Institute to grant money to institutions, organizations and local governments that will research specialty crop production in the state. This includes cost reduction, pest management and research and innovation.
Proposals are due Sunday, Feb. 18.
