Communication in Technology Program alumna Rebecca Brower is Fulton-Montgomery 4-H International Night’s guest speaker.

JOHNSTOWN — 4-H youth from throughout Fulton and Montgomery counties came together on Friday, Jan. 25 at the Shirley Luck Senior Citizen Center to share what they learned and celebrate foreign cultures.

Six groups presented an educational display, made a culturally significant dish to share and gave a presentation on their chosen countries. Youth participating were as follows: France – Kelly and Ailene Donovan; Greece – Isabella Evans; Ireland – Rusty Bits 4-H Club; Italy – Ryan Beam; Mexico – Illyria and Lucia Escher; San Marino – Community Gals & Guys 4-H Club.

In addition to the country displays, youth were able to participate in the “Who’s Flag is That?” activity and have their passports signed at each country they visited, a news release said. A portion of the program was devoted to a guest speaker that presented to the youth about studying and living abroad. The guest speaker, Rebecca Brower, grew up on the Brower Family Farm in Mayfield, New York and is a former member of the Community Gals and Guys 4-H Club. She graduated from Mayfield High School in 2009 and has a BA in Communication Technology from SUNY Cobleskill.
