More than 50 industry employers attended this year’s conference, meeting with students and discussing internship, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities. Alpha Gamma Rho and Sigma Alpha hosted an “employer reception” for visiting representatives.
Each semester, CCD staff visit Internship Orientation classes taught by members of faculty to work with students on job-search fundamentals including resume writing, interview preparation, dining etiquette, and professionalism. Students engage in hands-on exercises including mock interviews as part of this training.
The Office of Career Development holds workshops each semester for students at Cobleskill-Richmondville High School and the Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth students.
The Center for Career Development hosted the 36th Annual Schoharie County Counselor’s College Information Day; more than 450 high school students from 15 area high schools were in attendance, along with representatives from 80 colleges and four branches of the military. The Liberty Partnership Program assisted schools with transportation costs.
Local businesses are invited to campus to connect with students and share information about part-time job opportunities. The event is a valuable networking and job-search exercise.
