The Shores Resort & Spa [Daytona Beach Shores, FL] – the area’s only AAA Four Diamond property – has announced the appointment of Owen Chittenden as Senior Catering Sales Manager. In this role, Chittenden will oversee the local market for galas, foundation and fundraising events and corporate day meetings, as well as specializing in destination and ethnic weddings.
“Owen has been in this area for more than a decade, and has an excellent reputation within our community and industry-wide,” stated resort General Manager David Rios. “His attention to detail and stellar customer service will benefit not only the property, but our guests’ experiences as well.”
Prior to joining The Shores, Chittenden spent 13 years with the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort, the last seven as Senior Catering Manager. Prior to that, he was at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, Mass. servicing high-profile clients, such as General Electric, KB Toys, Laruen Publishing, to name just a few. Chittenden has held the position of President for Wedding Professionals of Volusia County and Florida Chapter Chair for Association of Certified Wedding Professionals. He has also served on numerous non-profit local committees and boards. He has also received numerous awards, including the ACPWC Professional Wedding Planner Award, Volusia County Food & Beverage Employee of the Year and Manager of the Quarter. Chittenden received his degree in Hotel Management from SUNY Cobleskill (N.Y.) in 1998.
