SUNY Cobleskill will be opening its barn doors to the community once again for the 2nd Annual Schoharie County Family Farm Day, taking place on Saturday, August 16, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Celebrating a landscape steeped in a rich history of agriculture, the SUNY Cobleskill Campus Farm will be joining several other local farms and farmer’s markets throughout Schoharie County in welcoming the community to their locations for hands-on awareness and education regarding agriculture.
From sampling and purchasing farm-fresh fare and spirits to enjoying insightful demonstrations and tours, the 2nd Annual Schoharie County Farm Day provides family-friendly activities rooted in local agriculture which are sure to make lasting, fun-filled memories for all who participate. The SUNY Cobleskill Campus Farm will not only be offering visitors an experience reflective of its core commitment to agriculture, but also provide an up close and personal opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in the SUNY Cobleskill atmosphere. “The Schoharie County Farm Day provides a chance for families to enjoy a behind the scenes look at the multifaceted operation here on our campus,” remarks Tim Moore, Dean of the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources at SUNY Cobleskill. Visitors can tour the fish hatcheries and dairy barn, interact with the wide variety of livestock on campus and have fun while creating their own ice cream sundaes.
