Checkout Times at the Beard Wellness Center Acknowledged by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care

The SUNY Cobleskill Beard Wellness Center has been recognized by the accrediting body, the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), as being the Best Performers in the Shortest Average Checkout Time. This recognition is given to a campus health center which performs each student visitation in a timely fashion; ensuring they can return to their classes in a fast and positive manner.

The mission of the SUNY Cobleskill Beard Wellness Center is to provide counseling, healthcare and health education services in support of the academic mission of the campus. Through exceptional team-work and implementation of cross-training, acknowledgement as the Best Performer in the Shortest Average Checkout Time is a notable representation of the many ways in which the staff at the Beard Wellness Center continues to support the College’s academic mission.

“It is satisfying to see, through the assessment process, that our efforts at the Beard Wellness Center are coming to fruition,” explains Mary Radliff, Co-Director of Wellness Services at SUNY Cobleskill. “Every time we have a former student contact us and tell us how we have positively impacted their lives, it is a time when we know we have made a positive impact. It is important to have a positive impact on campus but much more important to have a positive impact on someone’s life.”

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care was established to encourage and assist ambulatory health care organizations in providing the highest achievable level of care for recipients in the most efficient and economically sound manner. The AAAHC accomplishes this by the operation of a peer-based assessment, consultation, education and accreditation program. SUNY Cobleskill is among a limited number of SUNY colleges and universities in New York who have achieved accreditation through this organization.
