SUNY Cobleskill welcomes alumnus Jason Paden, presenting “How I Found Mental Health Recovery.” Jason will speak about his diagnosis of two critical mental health disorders, Bipolar and Schizophrenia. He will show how he developed a “mental healthy lifestyle” which keeps him happy, healthy and increasingly productive. This event will be taking place March 10th, 2015, in Bouck Theater at 7:00pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
Jason has a unique perspective when it comes to recovery from mental illness. Diagnosed in 2000 with two of the most difficult disorders to treat, his situation could have easily been a “worst case scenario.” Thirteen years later Jason is now in full recovery and a powerful mental health motivational speaker and advocate.
Despite internal struggles and social pain throughout his near-lifelong illness, Jason never gave up on his “healthy obsession with being happy.” Combining dialogue, music and multimedia, his story instills hope that mental health recovery is always possible.
