Local History Comes to Life in New Book by SUNY Cobleskill Alumni Association

Cobleskill, New York – The State University of New York at Cobleskill captures its rich history in a new pictorial history book to be released this week, Images of America: The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill. The College and its Alumni Association are pleased to present the book, which will be available for purchase at the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair.

A collaborative effort between campus and local community, Images of America: The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill, spotlights SUNY Cobleskill’s expansive history from past to present. Since the initial opening of its doors in 1916 as the Schoharie School of Agriculture, to a comprehensive college offering over 50 associate and baccalaureate degrees – Images of America: The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill chronicles the growth of a modest alternative state school into a nationally recognized educational institution with a collection of beautiful historic photos and narrative from Anne Myers, Anne Donnelly, and other members of the campus community.

Copies of Images of America: The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill will be sold at the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair on Saturday, August 8, 2015, between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Matthew Barney, Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving at SUNY Cobleskill, will be located at the SUNY Cobleskill booth to sell and distribute copies. Each copy costs $21.99, with all proceeds going directly to the Alumni Legacy Foundation.

A part of SUNY Cobleskill’s Centennial Celebration, Images of America: The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill will be sold at several local locations starting early September 2015. Additionally, the book will be showcased at the College’s 2015 Homecoming Celebration: Ninety-Nine & Counting, to be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015.
