Bartlett Tree Experts Train SUNY Cobleskill Faculty

Cobleskill, NY – SUNY Cobleskill was pleased to welcome Bartlett Tree Experts, a leader scientific tree and shrub care, to campus August 5 and 6, 2015, as they provided faculty, staff and students with expert training in tree climbing. Aiming to instruct students on the proper methods of tree climbing, SUNY Cobleskill hopes to provide a more in-depth curriculum in regard to the arborist industry.

SUNY Cobleskill has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the Bartlett Tree Experts. In November 2014, the Bartlett Tree Experts gifted the College with twelve 9-11 Survivor Tree Saplings – saplings which have been propagated from the sole surviving tree from the World Trade Center.

Steve Perry, Assistant Principal of John Bowne High School and SUNY Cobleskill Alumnus, joined David McMaster, Vice President of Bartlett Tree Experts, and John Bowne students in presenting SUNY Cobleskill with the trees. The trees were held throughout the winter season in the campus’ arboretum, and will be planted in remembrance in the upcoming spring on campus as part of a 9-11 Memorial.
