This week, the Northeast Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs Association (NECLECA), an agency with the Department of Environmental Conservation of NYS, awarded Nathan VerHague as their “Officer of the Year” for his outstanding service as an Environmental Conservation Officer (ECO). He has served in the DEC’s Division of Law Enforcement with distinction for the past dozen years, patrolling first in Long Island and now in Niagara County.
“Throughout his career, ECO VerHague has demonstrated outstanding service and commitment that has earned the respect of both the public and his peers. I extend my congratulations to him on this well-deserved honor” said DEC Acting Commissioner Marc Gertsman.
VerHague graduated from SUNY Cobleskill in 2003 with an Associate’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Technology and a Bachelor’s in Wildlife Management.
