SUNY Cobleskill’s pioneering applied learning requirement, announced last November, is featured in the first issue of The Umbrella, SUNY’s applied learning newsletter.
The Umbrella was launched to “serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and students as we work together to support the mission of providing excellent education and hands-on opportunities to all of our 460,000 students across our 64 campuses.”
SUNY Cobleskill has been on the forefront of that effort as the first to announce a requirement that all students complete an applied learning experience prior to graduation. We were joined by Alfred State, which added “learning by doing” to its official learning outcomes.
