Chad Brown’s Cloud Computing Wins Preakness

SUNY Cobleskill alumnus Chad Brown’s Cloud Computing won the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, coming from behind in a dramatic finish. This is Brown’s first victory in a Triple Crown event.

From The New York Times:

For Brown, Cloud Computing’s victory was a rebuttal to those who believed that as accomplished as he was as a trainer of turf horses, he still had not figured out how to win where America’s most prestigious races are run: on the dirt.

Be sure to check out the Times‘ follow-up profile of Brown, “Cloud Computing’s Trainer Wins One for his Mentor at Preakness.” From the article:

You don’t choose your mentors, they choose you. Ask Chad Brown. He was a small-town kid from upstate New York when the trainer Bobby Frankel decided to teach him what he knew.
