SUNY Cobleskill Hosts Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Jeff Leal

Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Jeff Leal and a delegation including representatives from the Ontario government, the Ontario agri-food industry, and Canadian government toured SUNY Cobleskill’s agricultural facilities June 13 during an agri-food trade engagement trip to Albany.

Minister Leal met with School of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dean Timothy Moore as well as other officials and agricultural experts at the College while visiting the 40,000-gallon cold-water fish hatchery, the greenhouses, livestock barns, and the USDA-approved meat lab.

SUNY Cobleskill offers among the most diverse agricultural programs in the country, including Agricultural Business Management, Animal Science and Plant Science, Landscape Contracting, Turfgrass Management, Fisheries & Aquaculture, Environmental Studies, Culinary Arts, and more. It is the only institution in the SUNY system with a USDA-approved meat processing facility.
