Amazon Web Services Certificate, Springboard to Higher Earning, at SUNY Cobleskill

SUNY Cobleskill, one of the first higher education institutions in the country to offer the 12-week Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect Preparatory Course, has opened registration for the upcoming session, beginning in January. Upon course completion, participants are awarded a dual SUNY Cobleskill/AWS Cloud Technology certificate, which can help qualify participants for coveted IT positions. This comprehensive online course is the first step towards achieving full AWS Amazon Solutions Architect certification. Based on 114 salaries submitted by Linkedin.com members with the title “Solutions Architect” at Amazon Web Services in the United States, AWS certified solutions architects can earn average salaries of $142,000.

Additional benefits of earning the SUNY Cobleskill/AWS Cloud Technology certificate include a free voucher for an AWS Praxis exam, and eligibility to take the final AWS certification exam at 50 percent less than the listed price.

“This course not only serves as a steppingstone to achieving full AWS certification, but helps accelerate the careers of those who enroll,” explains Vincent Basile, manager of online education at SUNY Cobleskill, and who will personally teach this year’s course. “Our goal is to enhance students’ core knowledge of application development, concepts in computing, and administrative skills in the 12-week course.”

Course content includes AWS business and technical essentials, AWS architecting, a final project, and a certification exam readiness workshop. Lectures are delivered online Tuesday and Thursday evenings over a twelve-week period from January 28 through April 16, 2020. Those interested in registering for the course should possess foundational knowledge of application development, and concepts in information technology and computing. Broadband is essential for this course. Full cost is $575 per person.
