Dairy Judging Team Wraps Up Successful Season

SUNY Cobleskill’s Dairy Cattle Judging Team wrapped up a stellar season with a first-place overall finish at last week’s North American International Livestock Expo (NAILE) in Louisville, KY. The team of Erin Curtis (Animal Science), Abby Hatch (Animal Science), Emily Hatch (Dairy Production & Management), and Tesika Kilmer (Agricultural Business Management), coached by Carrie Edsall, won over seven other teams in the 2-Year Collegiate Program division.

The team adds this win to its other impressive finishes this season, including first overall and first in oral reasons at the All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg and third overall and first in oral reasons at the 2021 World Dairy Expo.

SUNY Cobleskill has placed in the top five overall at the World Dairy Expo each year since 2015, finishing as the top team three times.

“The confidence this team has in their judging is reflected in their results this season, and we are so proud of what we’ve been able to achieve as a team and as individuals,” said Edsall. “Through their talent and hard work, this team has established themselves as the future leaders of the dairy judging community.”
