SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech marked its 108th Commencement Saturday, officially conferring degrees upon more than 400 graduates of the Class of 2026. Graduates represented more than 50 baccalaureate and associate degree programs across agriculture and technology disciplines.
“This graduating class is already contributing to the greater good of the world that they now inherit,” said Dr. Marion Terenzio, President. “They won national research awards, built AI tools for working farmers, redesigned our college identity, and completed more than 200 internships across six continents. Their education at SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech transcends just a point on their resume, becoming a record of impact in their chosen field instead. We as a college exist to prepare students for the world that is coming, and this class didn’t wait to get there; they have been shaping it all along.”
In addition to celebrating student’s academic achievements, the College also awarded an honorary SUNY Doctorate of Fine Arts to renowned author and illustrator Jan Brett.
Brett is a New York Times #1 bestselling author and illustrator of over 40 picture books, with more than 44 million copies in print. Her work is instantly recognizable for its detail-rich illustrations; life-like depictions of animals, landscapes, and cultural flourishes from around the world. Brett lives in a seacoast town in Massachusetts, near where she grew up, and is also an award-winning breeder of ornamental fowl.
The 108th Commencement ceremony was held on the Cobleskill Ag & Tech campus, in an outdoor ceremony. A full list of the College’s degree programs is available at www.cobleskill.edu.
