SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech has been ranked No. 8 among regional colleges in the Northeast in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges for Veterans<\/a> rankings. The list recognizes schools that participate in federal initiatives helping Veterans and active-duty service members pay for their degrees. SUNY Cobleskill was ranked in the Regional Colleges category within U.S. News’ North region, which includes eleven states from Maryland to Maine. The ranking comes as the College also earned strong marks in U.S. News\u2019 2027 Best Colleges overall, placing No. 26 among Regional Colleges North and No. 15 among Top Public Schools in that category.<\/p>\n

The College supports military-affiliated students through priority class registration, dedicated Veterans admissions counseling, acceptance of military transcripts, and participation in the VA\u2019s Yellow Ribbon Program, which provides financial assistance for tuition. Veterans also have access to the campus Veterans Resource Center, admission fee waivers, and free transportation to the Albany VA Hospital. The College\u2019s Student Veteran Association is an official chapter of Student Veterans of America.<\/p>\n

The recognition follows the College’s designation as the top college in New York State for Student Veterans in Military Times’ 2025 “Best for Vets: Colleges” rankings, where it placed 37th among 357 schools nationwide.<\/p>\n

U.S. News & World Report groups schools by academic mission and region, then scores them on up to 17 weighted measures, with more than half of the score based on student outcomes such as graduation and retention rates, social mobility for low-income students, and post-graduate earnings. Those results are combined with academic peer assessment and faculty resources, and U.S. News publishes exact ranks for the top 90% of schools in each category. More than 1,700 schools nationwide were evaluated for the 2027 Best Colleges rankings.<\/p>\n
